How to change the color of the Forbidden Finance app icon on your phone's home screen, including the Use my accent color shortcut.
Overview
You can recolor the Forbidden Finance icon on your home screen. The icon keeps its shape and dark background; what changes is the emblem color, so the app can match the rest of your setup. This is a phone and tablet feature -- the web app has no home screen icon to change.
Available Colors
The icon comes in the same eight colors as the accent palette:

How to Change Your App Icon
Open App icon settings
Go to Settings > Appearance and tap App icon.
Pick a color
Tap the icon you want. Each option shows a live preview of exactly what will land on your home screen.
Confirm on iOS
On iPhone and iPad, iOS shows a confirmation alert for every icon change. That alert comes from the system, not the app -- every app that changes its icon shows it, and there is no way to skip it.
Use My Accent Color
If you have picked an accent color in Appearance settings -- including a custom color of your own -- tap Use my accent color and the picker selects the closest matching icon for you. The screen shows which icon it chose (for example, "Closest icon: Teal") before anything changes, so there are no surprises. Icons are pre-installed designs, so a custom accent maps to the nearest of the eight colors rather than an exact match.
Changing your accent color never changes your icon on its own. The icon only changes when you tap it here -- deliberately, because iOS shows an alert for every switch and Android launchers can move the icon around.
Good to Know
- Android: the icon may move. Some home screens re-add the icon in a new position when it changes, and on a few devices the app may briefly restart. Both are launcher behaviors, not bugs.
- Android themed icons win. If you use Android's themed icons (the single-color icons that follow your wallpaper), Android shows the same themed icon whichever color you pick here. Your choice still applies everywhere themed icons do not.
- iOS dark and tinted modes. Each icon color includes its own dark-mode appearance, and iOS's tinted home screen mode recolors all icons itself -- that is the system working as designed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does iOS ask me to confirm every time?
Apple requires a system confirmation alert for any app icon change. It is the same for every app, and Forbidden Finance cannot suppress it. That is also why the icon never changes automatically when you change your accent color.
Does my icon choice sync to my other devices?
No. App icons belong to each device's home screen, so each phone or tablet keeps its own choice. Your accent color and theme do sync -- see Appearance settings.
I picked a color but my icon looks the same. Why?
On Android, check whether themed icons are turned on in your phone's home screen settings -- they override app-supplied colors with a single wallpaper-matched style. On iOS, the tinted home screen mode does the same.
