Accessibility Settings
How to make Forbidden Finance easier to see and use: high contrast, colorblind-safe colors, chart palettes, reduced motion, text size, screen readers, and keyboard navigation.
Overview
Forbidden Finance has a dedicated Accessibility screen covering contrast, color, motion, and text size, and the app is built to work with screen readers, larger text, and full keyboard navigation. Everything on this page is available on every plan -- accessibility features are never tier-gated.
To find it, tap the Settings icon in the navigation bar, then tap Accessibility.
High Contrast
The High contrast toggle strengthens dividers, outlines, and secondary text throughout the app. Glass effects are replaced with solid panels so text always sits on a stable background.
Open Accessibility settings
Go to Settings > Accessibility.
Toggle High contrast
Under Vision, turn on the High contrast switch. The change applies immediately.
Colorblind-Safe Colors
By default, money in is green and money out is red. If you have red-green color blindness, those two can be hard to tell apart, so the Colorblind-safe colors toggle uses blue for money in and orange for money out instead -- everywhere amounts, badges, and trends appear.
Open Accessibility settings
Go to Settings > Accessibility.
Toggle Colorblind-safe colors
Under Vision, turn on the Colorblind-safe colors switch. Charts switch to a matching palette at the same time.
Chart Colors
Charts can also use their own palette, separate from the rest of the app. Under Chart colors, choose:

| Deuteranopia safe | A blue/orange pair distinguishable by most people with red-green color blindness. |
| High contrast | Black/white with a single accent color. Charts in this palette never rely on hue alone -- values are labeled with numbers instead. |
Reduce Effects
The Reduce effects toggle under Motion disables blur, background animation, and motion throughout the app. It is the same setting you may have seen in Appearance -- the two switches always stay in sync, so you can turn it on from either place.

Text Size
Forbidden Finance follows your device's text-size setting, up to 200%. There is no separate in-app slider -- change it where you change it for every app:
- iOS: Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text.
- Android: Settings > Display > Font size (naming varies by device).
- Web: your browser's zoom (Ctrl/Cmd and +).
Layouts adapt as text grows: rows wrap and screens scroll rather than cutting numbers off. Bold-text device settings are respected too, including inside charts.
Screen Readers
The app is built to work with VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android): buttons and controls are labeled, money amounts are read as full sentences, charts announce a summary of what they show, and status changes (like a sync finishing) are announced as they happen.
On the web app, screen reader support is switched on when you first interact by keyboard: the first Tab press reveals an "Enable accessibility" control -- activate it and the full app is announced for the rest of your visit. You'll do this once per visit; the iOS and Android apps need no such step.
Keyboard Navigation
On web and desktop, the whole app can be used without a mouse:

Anything that normally needs a drag or a long press -- reordering dashboard widgets, selecting multiple transactions, reordering payoff plans -- also has a button-based alternative, so no feature depends on a gesture.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do accessibility settings cost anything or require a plan?
No. Every accessibility setting is available on every plan, including Free.
Does colorblind-safe mode change my data or how amounts are calculated?
No. It only changes colors. Amounts, math, and history are identical.
Why can't I turn the High contrast switch off?
Your device's system high-contrast setting is on, and the app follows it. Turn it off in your device settings and the in-app switch unlocks.
Do these settings sync between my devices?
No -- accessibility settings are saved on each device separately, and that is deliberate: you might want high contrast on your phone for outdoor use but not on a large desktop monitor. Set each device the way you like it.
