Common IssuesPurchases & Restore

Purchase, Restore and Billing Problems

What to do when a subscription you paid for doesn't show up, how Restore Purchases works, and why some builds can't sell subscriptions.

Overview

Your plan can be paid for in two places: on the web at app.403fin.io, or through the App Store or Google Play inside the iOS and Android apps. Each place bills separately and has its own way of fixing problems. This page covers the common ones.

My Purchase Isn't Showing Up

Give it a moment

Right after a store purchase, the Subscription screen may say "Your purchase is confirmed, we're finishing activation." Wait a few seconds. If it stays, tap Finish activating.

Restore Purchases

On iOS and Android, open Settings > Subscription and tap Restore Purchases. This asks the store for any active subscription on your store account and applies it. Use it after reinstalling the app or signing in on a new phone.

Check which account bought it

A store subscription belongs to the Apple ID or Google account that paid for it. Make sure that account is signed in to the store on the device, then restore again.

Check where you subscribed

If you subscribed on the web, nothing needs restoring. Sign in to the app with the same Forbidden Finance account and your plan appears automatically.

Subscriptions Aren't Available in This App

Some builds can't sell subscriptions:

  • Beta and TestFlight builds show "Subscriptions aren't available in beta builds."
  • Android apps installed outside Google Play show "Subscriptions can't be purchased in this app."

In both cases the message points you to app.403fin.io. Manage your plan on the web, and an active subscription appears in the app automatically.

If the app says "In-app purchases aren't available on this device right now", purchases are restricted on the device itself, for example by screen-time or parental controls.

Prices Won't Load

"We couldn't get prices from the store" means the app couldn't reach the App Store or Google Play. Check your connection and try again in a moment. Prices come from the store, not from Forbidden Finance.

Premium Connection Packs

Packs are billed by the same store as your plan and renew with it. On Android, changing a pack is done in Google Play rather than in the app: the message reads "To change your Premium Connection pack, manage your subscriptions in Google Play."

If your plan lapses, any pack goes inactive with it. The app tells you so and offers to resubscribe, or you can cancel the pack in the store so you aren't billed for it.

Cancelled but Still Charged

A store subscription is cancelled in the store, not in the app. The app sends you to the App Store or Google Play subscription page for it. Until the store subscription is cancelled there, the store keeps billing it. Web subscriptions are cancelled from Settings > Subscription.

Refunds

  • Web subscriptions: a 30-day money-back guarantee applies, counted from the start of your current billing period. The first refund is issued automatically from Settings > Subscription. Repeat refunds within 180 days, or a third refund, are reviewed by support within 24 hours.
  • Store subscriptions: refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. Forbidden Finance can't issue them.

Billing History

On the web, Settings > Subscription has a Billing History link with your past invoices. For store purchases, your receipts are in your Apple or Google account.

Tips

Keep your plan in one place. If you pay on the web, don't also subscribe in the store, or you'll be billed twice for the same plan.
Restore Purchases never charges you. It only looks up what your store account already owns.

Frequently Asked Questions

I switched from Android to iPhone. Do I need to buy again?

A Google Play subscription can't be restored on an iPhone. Cancel it in Google Play when it runs out and subscribe again on iOS or on the web. Your Forbidden Finance data follows your account, not the store.

Why does the web show a different price?

Store prices are set per country by the store and can include store tax rules. The plan is the same.

Does my household member need to pay too?

No. Members of a household use the owner's plan for features. Only the owner pays.
